"After language training, Jim Steeby took the first Fish group on a whirlwind tour of our potential work locations. On the western leg of our tour, we spent a day in Carnot. In the afternoon, we inspected the diamond mining pits along the streams near town, and in the evening, like most evenings, we went drinking. After a few beers, some brochettes, hard-boiled eggs and kola nuts, we got our pictures taken. I cannot remember much of what happened after the picture was taken. I think we went to Berberati the next day." Marlyn Miller
